Dr Wasantha Palawela is a Consultant General Paediatrician, having worked in Paediatrics since 2004.
He completed his undergraduate degree (MBBS) at University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He obtained his Diploma in Child Health (DCH) in 2008 and Doctor of Medicine in Paediatrics (MD) in 2011 after having his training in Newcastle General Hospital, UK, Ealing Hospital, London, UK and Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital, Colombo (LRH).
After working in Sri Lanka as a Consultant Paediatrician, including at LRH he completed work of another 18 months in North Manchester General Hospital, UK prior to relocating to Australia in 2015.
He completed Australian training (FRACP) as a General Paediatrician in 2018. He also works as a Paediatrician in General Paediatrics and Neonatology units at Goulburn Valley Health, Shepparton. He is conducting clinics in General Paediatrics, Behaviour and Development and Diabetes at present in public sector. Joel Joseph is an experienced podiatrist who completed his Major in Anatomy and Physiology and Masters in Podiatric Practice from La Trobe University, Melbourne.
As a podiatry student, Joel worked at a podiatry-based footwear store where he obtained knowledge about footwear and biomechanical assessments.
Before taking on his current role, Joel worked as a podiatrist in various clinical and aged care settings in Adelaide for two years and in the northern suburbs of Melbourne for several years.
Joel enjoys the everyday challenge of treating all aspects of foot health and has a special interest in biomechanics, diabetic foot care, children’s foot health, Podiatry Ingrown Nail Surgeries, and encouraging his clients to improve personal health and fitness to help them mobilise with ease.

Dr Matthew Hoo is a fully qualified General Practitioner who has practiced medicine in Australia for the past 8 years. In this time he has had 4 years of training in adult medicine, giving him an appreciation of the complexities of diagnostic testing, the role of specialists and their pharmacological interventions. Dr Hamna Sahi is an Australian based Health professional. She has completed her specialist training at Peninsula Health, Eastern Health and Monash Health during her training and acquired a Fellowship in Respiratory Medicine with The Royal Australasian College of Physicians the in 2016.
Dr Sahi is an active member of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and European Respiratory Society member.

Having qualified from the University of Adelaide in 1998, Balan commenced basic cardiology training (2003) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, SA. He undertook further general cardiology training at the National Heart Centre, Singapore, returning to Flinders Medical Centre (SA) in 2006, after completing 18 months sub speciality training in Echocardiography and General Cardiology. Balan completed Cardiology specialist qualification from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2007. In 2008 he commenced 2.5 years research of heart failure and kidney impairment at The Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Monash University, Victoria. He worked on basic science and clinical research exploring uremic toxins on heart function and novel kidney biomarkers. In 2011, he took up a position as Staff Cardiologist at the Royal Darwin Hospital and Alice Springs Hospital. In the Northern Territory he started 3 ethics approved projects with the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Alice Springs and Flinders Human Behaviour and Health Research Unit South Australia, exploring Indigenous patients’ health journey, self-management and post marketing research in heart failure. He returned to Melbourne in 2015. In addition to clinical work he continues research as a Senior Lecturer at Flinders University Northern Territory Medical School with local and external collaborators. Despite building a busy clinical practice, he is keen to maintain research interest to help close clinical gaps for heart failure in the fields of self-management, disease management programs, clinical audits and targeted bedside to bench basic research for the Western region. From his research he has received several awards and honors, such as: Australian Postgraduate Award, RACP Fellows Contribution Award, Heart Foundation and Health Professional Scholarship. He is an editor on several cardiac journals, has authored an editorial series, 25 research articles and book chapters. He is a fellow of the RACP and CSANZ.
